Fishmeal and fish oil's role in the Blue Transformation
UN FAO’s work on aquatic food systems for the period 2022–2030 is outlined in its Blue Transformation Roadmap, built on three core components: Effective management of all fisheries ; sustainable aquaculture expansion ; and upgraded value chains.
With aquaculture growing, more feed materials are needed. What role will the marine ingredients value chain play in improving fisheries, enabling better retention of nutrients within food systems and formulating feed strategies which support the fish's health and development while mitigating the feed's environmental impacts?
